Welcome from FabLab Tempe’s Organizing Committee!

We are organizing a non-profit FabLab in the northwest area of Tempe, Arizona, USA. This lab should be fully functioning by August 2016. This lab will serve as a permeable, public community centered around open-source technology, education & outreach and high-tech/high-design entrepreneurship.

This project is a “do-ocracy” built around local ASU students and members of the Tempe community. If you want a makerspace that isn’t a 40 minute drive away, get involved.

We are planning for our core capabilities to be based around an MIT-compliant FabLab architecture that uses open-source software and a laser cutter, CNC, vinyl cutter, 3D printer and board mill to Make Almost Anything. Our plan is to expand from that proven base of tools by offering other capabilities and classes that the local community of artists, designers, engineers and other Makers need.

Areas of interest among the organizers include vertical gardens, aquaponics, DIY outer space, radical recycling and tool-building.
